Creating global conversations on cyber defence

The Need

BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, a leading cyber defence company, wanted to provide up to date information to the market and to their clients on perceptions of cyber security among major organisations across the globe.

Our Approach

Opinium proposed a mixed methodology programme of research – telephone research among C-Suite respondents at Fortune 500 companies and an online survey of IT decision makers across eight markets.

The survey explored the participants understanding of cyber security threats, how these were perceived to translate into business and technological risks, as well as the estimated financial impact of breaches on the business.

The Outcome

The results from the research allowed BAE Systems Applied Intelligence to address concerns in the market and highlight misconceptions via a report, event and ongoing communications collateral.

In particular they were able to show the perceived cost of a cyber-attack verses reality, the disconnect between C-Suite and IT decision makers’ perceptions of their companies’ systems and their attitudes to potential new products and services.
