Conservatives†maintain their 1-point lead in the polls
Labour and†the Conservatives†vote share has remained stable since last month, with a 1 point drop for UKIP to 6%.

Leader Approval Ratings
Theresa May?s leadership ratings remain stable, with a net rating of -21%. Jeremy Corbyn’s ratings also remain stable with a slight rise from a net rating of -24% last month to -23%. Vince Cable also sees a slight improvement, with a slight rise from -15% last month to a net rating of -11%.
However, Theresa May?s lead over Jeremy Corbyn on who would make the best prime minister has edged up slightly from†6 to†9 points (currently it stands at 32% for May vs 23% for Jeremy Corbyn).

Over one in† three (35%) voters feel that neither Labour nor the Conservatives represent people like them.
As the party conference season kicks off this weekend, the nation?s faith in politics is shaky, with 34% saying both major parties have become extreme, with only 22% of voters saying that one of the major parties represents most or all of their views
Perceptions of the main leaders and parties
also reveals almost three-fifths (57%) think both the Conservative and Labour parties are divided at the moment. In comparison, just a quarter believe the Tories and Labour are currently united parties (27% and 26% respectively).

Feelings towards the party leaders are similarly downbeat. Almost half (47%) do not think Theresa May is a strong leader, 45% think she is indecisive, 43% do not view her as able to stand up for Britain?s best interests abroad, and 42% do not think she is trustworthy. Jeremy Corbyn is viewed equally unfavourably:
