Third of consumers plan to return or give up Christmas gifts
In a recent Opinium study, commissioned by Post Office Ltd, we expose the truth about something our British politeness would never normally let us admit: returning Christmas gifts. The results reveal that one third of UK consumers will be returning or giving up at least one of the gifts they received for Christmas 2022.
The survey leaves no stone unturned in it’s quest to discover why ‘Gifts worth £232 million will be returned across the UK,’ who will be returning them and what is being returned: ‘The most common presents being re-gifted, donated, sold or returned are clothes and shoes (21%), followed by non-electrical beauty items (18%) and books and stationery (12%).’
