Stewart and Johnson seen as the best potential prime ministers
Our latest research has shown that amongst those who have heard of each of the candidates, the two contenders seen as the best potential prime minister are Rory Stewart and Boris Johnson.
When we dig down into the key traits that each candidate is perceived as having, Rory Stewart appears to have the broadest range of positive traits of any of the candidates. It is also of interest that he gets some higher scores from Labour and Lib Dem voters than Conservatives.
However, Rory Stewart remains relatively unknown compared to some of the other leading contenders such as Boris Johnson and Michael Gove. It will be interesting to see how this changes in the coming weeks.†
