The Conservatives stay in the lead on 42%, two-points head of Labour, who are on 40%, up 1 point from last month.
This is the first time the Conservatives have had a lead in two consecutive polls since the general election.
Leader Approval Ratings
Theresa May has a seen a slight improvement in her approval ratings this month while Jeremy Corbyn has seen a slight drop.
Theresa May?s net approval rating has risen from -11% last month to -9% now. Similarly, Jeremy Corbyn?s net approval ratings have fallen from -7% to -10%. This is the first time that Theresa May’s net approval ratings have overtaken Jeremy Corbyn’s since the election, however narrowly.
Theresa May?s lead over Jeremy Corbyn on who would make the best prime minister has risen slightly from 6 points to 8 points (currently it stands at 34% for May vs 26% for Corbyn).
Theresa May’s handling of the Salisbury attack has been met with approval
Two fifths (41%) approve of the way Theresa May has responded to the Salisbury attack, while only 20% disapprove.
Asked which of the two main party leaders would be best placed to respond to Russia and its likely involvement in an attack on British soil, 39% said Theresa May while only 16% said Jeremy Corbyn.
56% support the expulsion of Russian diplomats, while only 11% oppose it. †Half (49%) support taking Russian broadcasters such as Russia Today off air.
However, support for potentially invoking Activate Article 5 under NATO is more mixed ? 40% support and 20% oppose.
