Outrage, Offence and Common Sense
Despite its acute lack of a common definition, ?political correctness? has come to stand at the heart of the existential debates playing out within liberal Western democracies ? a critical underpinning of both the rising levels of political partisanship and seething social tensions transforming our public sphere.
Opinium worked with Sophia Gaston, a social and political researcher who conducts international projects on public opinion, to conduct some cutting edge research into the longer-term trends taking place in our society. The resulting research paper, authored by Sophia, explores the key themes around our definition of political correctness, its place in society, and what we collectively consider to be acceptable or unacceptable.
If you would like further details on any of the research do get in touch with us.
