Domestic abuse charity Refuge and Make it Mandatory is calling on the government to offer relationships and sex education to older teenagers
We are so proud that our study with Refuge has featured in Cosmopolitan in support of a charity campaign about the way sex education and domestic abuse is taught in schools. Our study from 2022 found that ‘30% of young women could recount some form of controlling or coercive behaviour in a relationship. But, when shown a list of potential behaviours that could be classed as coercive, the number of women who could answer ‘yes’ to having encountered it rose to over half (51%),’ and this awesome campaign is calling for action.
