Jeremy Corbyn still ahead amongst Labour voters

46% prefer the incumbent to Angela Eagle and Owen Smith

Despite the clear loss of a vote of no confidence from his MPs, it appears that over the weekend there wasn?t an obvious alternative to his leadership from amongst the only declared contenders.

Just under half (46%) of Labour voters thought Jeremy Corbyn would still make the best leader of the Labour Party, although this means that just over half (54%) of Labour voters think that Jeremy Corbyn would not be the best leader of the Labour party.Out of the current range of candidates on offer for Labour members and supporters, 35% of Labour voters said they didn?t know or weren?t sure who the best leader would be.

This leaves only 14% believing Angela Eagle to be the best candidate to be leader, while 6% selected Owen Smith.
